Department Functions / Responsibilities

The Recycling Department has the responsibility of overseeing all recycling programs and household chemical collection in the City of Decatur.

Homeowners are provided one recycling cart for curbside pickup; the fees for that service are included in monthly utility bills. Recycling materials brought to the Decatur Morgan Landfill have a fee of $26.00 per ton as of October 1, 2023.
