Learn with the Law: Civic Engagement Learning Opportunity for Students

Sep 21, 2017

A Friday morning out of class with the Decatur Police Department – what could be better for student council representatives at Woodmeade Elementary School?

The DPD will host its inaugural Learn with the Law event on Friday, September 22, at the historic Southern Railway Depot.

Woodmeade’s third through fifth grade student council will be transported by bus to the Depot, where the Honorable David Breland (Ret.) will start the morning off with a tour.

After learning about Decatur’s rail history, sack lunches will be served on site and Chief Nate Allen will narrate a story for the group.

The outing will wrap up with a behind-the-scenes view of the Depot’s Police Annex.

About Learn with the Law
